According to the Troup County Sheriff’s Office, a 3 year old male child was found dead last Monday, by the Child’s Foster Parents, at an undisclosed location, in Troup County.
The child had been sick for several days, “with flu like symptoms”, reported Chief Investigator Charles Nixon, of the Troup County Sheriff’s Office. According to Nixon, the child had been very sick over the weekend, prior to his sudden death on Monday February 1.
According to Sheriff Donny Turner and Chief Investigator Nixon, the case has been turned over to the GBI, and the body of the 3 year old white male has been sent to the GBI Crime Lab in Atlanta for an autopsy. Sheriff Turner reported that the little one had been sick prior to going to the Foster Parents. Investigator Nixon stated that the investigation is ongoing, and that since it is an ongoing investigation, he was not at liberty to release any further information. Nixon reported that the autopsy results would take several months to come back. Nixon did report that the child was in State custody, under the direction of the Department of Family and Children’s Service.
